The act of stealing was even captured on camera and has since gone viral on social media. The video shows the suspect calmly approaching the stage, lifting the bride’s bag within seconds, and hiding it inside his blazer before quietly disappearing from the crowd.

A joyful wedding celebration in Jaipur recently turned into a distressing event for the bride, groom and the families, when a man pretending to be a guest stole the bride’s bag full of cash and jewellery on stage. The bag containing cash and jewellery was worth ₹ 4 lakh, and the incident was caught on camera. The video of the same has now gone viral on the internet. The incident occurred at Chandan One Marriage Garden in the Jagatpura area during the wedding celebrations of Naveen Karol on February 7. According to the police complaint, the couple were standing on stage for photographs at around 10.15 pm when the theft occurred. With many guests gathered nearby, a well-dressed man carrying a blazer mingled easily among them and did not attract attention. Video recordings showed the suspect calmly approaching the stage, lifting the bride’s bag within seconds and hiding it inside his blazer before quietly disappearing into the crowd.

The bride realised the bag was missing only after the photoshoot ended. It reportedly contained jewellery and cash worth nearly Rs 4 lakh. Family members searched the venue but found nothing. They then reviewed the event footage, which clearly captured the suspect committing the theft. The groom’s brother, Nitin Karol, filed a formal complaint with the police. The officials have identified the accused, and a further probe to trace him is underway.
