Recently, at Gopika Jewellers, an elderly couple walked in together at the shop, hand-in-hand to buy a mangalsutra. The couple browsed for necklaces and finally selected one. Moved by their affectionate bond and humble demeanour, the shopkeeper began a warm conversation with them. When asked how much money they had, the elderly woman pulled out ₹1,120 in cash. The shopkeeper was amused and smilingly said, “So much money?” Thinking this money wasn’t enough, the old man reached into his bag and brought out two bundles full of coins. However, what followed touched the hearts of netizens. The shopkeeper, instead of accepting the full payment, insisted on charging only ₹20 for the mangalsutra. He charged only ₹10 each of them as a symbolic gesture, saying it was a tribute to their love.
