A video trending recently on the internet involves a Korean couple travelling to the Golden City, Jaisalmer, in India. The couple were surprised when they encountered their ‘Tuk-Tuk’ autorickshaw drivers speaking in Korean. The travel vloggers visited Rajasthan’s Jaisalmer, where a heartwarming and unexpected interaction occurred at the Tuk-Tuk autorickshaw stand.
Korean couple surprised by Jaisalmer’s autorickshaw driver speaking Korean.
The Korean couple and travel vloggers stepped out of a bus in Jaisalmer and admired the line of autorickshaws when a man casually said in Korean, “These are all tuk-tuks.” To their amazement, one of the drivers instantly responded in fluent Korean, not in Hindi or English. Catching the couple completely off-guard, the driver said, “Not as many Koreans come here as they used to. Why?” Smiling and surprised, they answered, “Yeah, why not?” The short exchange sparked a cheerful back-and-forth as the drivers explained, “Yeah, not since long. It’s been a long time since we saw one.” The impressed couple told them, “We’ll really recommend this place.” Another autorickshaw driver approached them soon after, again speaking in Korean and offered a ride. The couple politely declined and replied, “No, it’s okay, we are walking,” the driver nodded and replied in perfect Korean.
