President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, slammed Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Russia.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi made more headlines when he recently met Russian President Vladimir Putin. However, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy did not take this well.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy, President of Ukraine, has slammed Prime Minister Narendra Modi for visiting Russia and its President Vladimir Putin, calling it a blow to peace efforts that fell on the same day as a deadly Russian missile strike.

Ukraine’s President shares his disappointment on social media.

Sharing his disappointment, Volodymyr Zelenskyy said in a post on X, “It is a huge disappointment and a devastating blow to peace efforts to see the leader of the world’s largest democracy hug the world’s most bloody criminal in Moscow on such a day.” he shared a string of pictures showing a missile strike that hit a children’s hospital in Kyiv and killed dozens. Adding more, he said, “In Ukraine today, 37 people were killed, three of whom were children, and 170 were injured, including 13 children, as a result of Russia’s brutal missile strike. A Russian missile struck the largest children’s hospital in Ukraine, targeting young cancer patients. Many were buried under the rubble.”

PM Modi met Russian President Vladimir Putin.

As the Ministry of External Affairs said, PM Modi met Vladimir Putin for a private dinner on Monday following his arrival in the Russian capital. Russia’s first deputy Prime Minister, Denis Manturov, received PM Modi at Moscow’s airport. US State Department spokesman Matthew Miller told reporters that Washington has already raised concerns about India’s relationship with Russia. He said, “We welcome people engaging with Russia about the war in Ukraine if they made clear to Russia that Russia needs to respect Ukraine’s territorial integrity and sovereignty.”
