Urvashi Rautela claims she has a temple in her name in Badrinath

Urvashi Rautela, self-proclaimed as the “#1 actress” to do several things, often makes it to the headlines for bizarre reasons. Initially, she was in the news for mindlessly changing the topic from Saif Ali Khan’s stabbing case to her film Daaku Maharaaj, making over 100 crores at the box office. In a recent interview, she claims she has a temple in her name in Badrinath.

During the interview with Siddharth Kannan, the actress said, “Already mere naam ka mandir hai, Urvashi mandir. Aap Badrinath ke mandir ke darshan karne jaoge na, uske theek baaju mein there is a mandir, called ‘Urvashi.’” Siddharth looked quite surprised and attempted to confirm with her thrice if she was serious. But, every time, Urvashi said, “Haan, Urvashi mandir wahan pe hai.”

Urvashi now wants to have another temple in her name in the South. As her career is evidently booming off-late in the south industry, she said she would like her fans to have a place to go to. She said, “Within a span of 1.5 saal, I made my debut with megastar Chiranjeevi. Phir maine Pawan Garu Kalyan ke saath kaam kiya, do filmon mein, phir maine Balaya Babu ke saath kaam kiya. Meri bas yahi chah hai ki unke bhi temples hai toh South mein aisa kuch ho, for my fans, wahan pe kuch ho.” Siddharth asked if she was being serious, and she replied, “Haan kaam South mein ho raha hai na, toh South mein hona chahiye.”

One user wrote, “Its fact that theres a Urvashi temple right there but its there from way before she was born and its dedicated to an apsara named Urvashi Devi (Sage Narayana) who was considered as most beautiful apsara with exceptional dancing skill and wife of King Pururavas. It has nothing to do with Urvashi Rautela. They just share same name .🙆🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️” Another joked, “Yes a song is also dedicated to her “urvashi urvashi take it easy urvashi.” One more wrote, “He gave her 3 chances to correct and check herself.”

When Siddharth asked where the temple is located, Urvashi explained that anybody going for the Chaar Dham yatra would be able to spot her ‘mandir’ about a kilometre into the route. Siddharth further clarified if people bowed their heads down, offering prayers, she said, “Arre mandir hai! Wahi toh karenge.”
