The viral video, which has been doing the rounds currently on social media, involves an incident near Indirapuram in Uttar Pradesh’s Ghaziabad, on NH-9. Social media trends often lead people to break laws to make videos. Amidst tons of videos already available on the internet about people recklessly driving or unnecessary stunts to gain views and likes on their videos, new footage has emerged of a man driving an SUV at full speed on a footpath in Ghaziabad.

The now viral video shows the man putting the lives of pedestrians at risk by driving his SUV at full speed on a footpath in Ghaziabad. The video was shot from another car. The viral video, shared by an X handle @tricitytoda, had a caption: “This Thar is running on the pavement in front of Ghaziabad Indirapuram on NH-9 not due to any compulsion but due to the passion of making reels. Traffic rules can go to hell.”

Soon after the video went viral, Ghaziabad police responded swiftly and nabbed the man. The Indirapuram police station has filed a relevant complaint under the relevant sections of the Motor Vehicles Act, which has initiated the process of seizing the vehicle. Taking to X, the official handle of Deputy Commissioner of Police (Trans Hindon) Commissionerate Ghaziabad shared, “Taking cognizance of the above case, Indirapuram police station registered a case under relevant sections and initiated action to seize the vehicle shown in the video under the Motor Vehicles Act. Continuous efforts are being made to arrest the concerned driver. Further legal proceedings are underway.”

A user on social media reacted, “What is going on in this country. Everything is happening on the footpath. Vehicles are running on the footpath instead of the road, people are sleeping in huts on the footpath instead of their homes, shops are also running on the footpath.” Another user commented, “No concrete action was taken on the previous challan, this time too they will issue the challan and let them go, this boosts their morale.”
