Wedding preparations of Naga Chaitanya-Sobhita Dhulipala begin

The couple have kickstarted their wedding preparations but haven’t yet revealed the wedding date.

Naga Chaitanya and Sobhita Dhulipala are soon going to be married. Though the couple hasn’t revealed the wedding date thus far, they have kicked off their wedding preparations. On Monday, the actress shared beautiful pictures from a pre-wedding ceremony held in Vishakhapatnam and captioned the post, “Godhuma Raayi Pasupu danchatam 🦜🪷♥️ And so it begins!”

The couple began their wedding prep with a “Godhuma Raayi Pasupu danchatam” ceremony. Godhuma means wheat, Raayi means stone, Pasupa means turmeric, and Danchatam means crushing or grinding. The phrase means “crushing wheat, stone, and turmeric together.” The ceremony is significant in Telugu weddings and refers to a traditional ritual where the bride and groom jointly grind wheat, turmeric, and sometimes other ingredients on a grinding stone (Raayi). This act symbolizes the beginning of their life together, where the couple shares the responsibilities, works together, and prepares for a new phase in life.

The act is symbolic of unity, cooperation, and the idea that marriage involves both partners working together in harmony. It is a traditional ritual that highlights the coming together of the bride and groom in a Telugu wedding. For the ritual, Sobhita Dhulipala wore a silk saree in peach, gold, and green colors. She was surrounded by her friends and family and was seen taking the blessings of her elders by touching their feet. During the ritual, she was seen grinding the turmeric.
