On Friday, an alleged airstrike was launched by Pakistan in Afghanistan’s Paktika province. The players who died in the incident were Kabeer Agha, SibghatullahZirok, and Harron. They had returned to Urgun after a friendly match in Sharana when the strike hit, part of a barrage that killed at least 10 people, according to official and multiple reports.

Yuvraj Singh took to X to express his grief on the death of the Afghan players. He wrote, “Heartfelt condolences to the families of the young #Afghanistan cricketers who lost their lives in the recent attack. Our thoughts are with them during this difficult time. May their memories inspire peace & unity 🙏🏻” The Afghan Cricket Board called the attack a cowardly act. It named three local cricketers and announced that Afghanistan would withdraw from next month’s T20 tri-series in Pakistan, originally slated for Nov 17-29 in Rawalpindi and Lahore.
The BCCI also publicly condemned the violence and extended condolences to the families and the Afghan cricket fraternity, aligning with the ICC’s stance and the ACB’s grief.
