The 15-year-old Rajasthan Royals player admitted that hearing praise from the ‘God of Cricket’ came as a surprise to him.

One cricketer who has been making his name count all over the world with his smashing scores and incredible fielding is 15-year-old VaibhavSooryavanshi. He delivered one of the most explosive knocks in IPL playoff history, playing for Rajasthan Royals (RR) against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), scoring 97 just off 29 balls, falling only three runs short of Chris Gayle’s record for the fastest IPL century. His fearless batting completely dismantled Hyderabad’s bowling attack and turned the playoff contest into a one-sided affair within a matter of overs.

Tendulkar highlighted Sooryavanshi’s exceptional bat swing and his clever footwork against deliveries aimed at his body. The cricket icon admired how naturally the youngster created space for himself and attacked the bowlers with freedom. The praise from someone widely regarded as the “God of Cricket” quickly became one of the biggest talking points among fans. Interestingly, Sooryavanshi himself did not know about Tendulkar’s post immediately. During a casual interaction with teammate DhruvJurel for the IPL website, he was informed about the legendary batter’s reaction.

Reacting to Tendulkar’s praise, the youngster admitted he was genuinely surprised and emotional. “It feels really good. It motivates me a lot,” he said, adding that recognition from a cricketing legend like Tendulkar was a huge moment in his career. The teenager described it as a matter of pride that someone he had grown up admiring had noticed his performance and publicly appreciated it. Sooryavanshi’s innings was packed with confidence, clean hitting, and maturity beyond his age. The teenager hammered 12 sixes during his explosive stay at the crease, sending fans and experts into disbelief. Every time the bowlers tried to contain him, he responded with another audacious boundary. The performance soon caught the attention of Sachin Tendulkar, who praised the teenager publicly on social media.

Sooryavanshi has been one of the standout players of the tournament and currently leads the Orange Cap race. In 15 innings so far, he has scored 680 runs at an impressive average of 45.33. What makes his numbers even more remarkable is his extraordinary strike rate of 242.85, a figure rarely seen even among the most destructive T20 batters.
