Clinical performance propels India into Junior Asia Cup semi-finals.

India’s women’s junior hockey team delivered a breathtaking performance in the Women’s Junior Asia Cup 2026, dismantling Pakistan 19-0 to secure their place in the semi-finals. The contest was one-sided from the opening whistle, with India showcasing relentless attacking flair and airtight defence to deliver one of the tournament’s most emphatic victories.

From the outset, India imposed their dominance, earning two penalty corners within the first five minutes. Although an early strike was overturned after a referral, Puja Sahoo broke the deadlock in the seventh minute. Roshni Aind doubled the lead soon after, and the floodgates opened. Tanushree Kadu added a third with a neat deflection, Sukhveer Kaur converted a penalty stroke, and Sanika Mane made it 5-0 before the first quarter ended.

India continued their ruthless charge in the second quarter. Madhu Sidar and Geeta Yadav extended the tally, while Sanika struck again. Tanuja Toppo and Pooja Malik joined the scoring spree, ensuring India went into half-time with a commanding 10-0 advantage.

Pakistan had no respite after the break. Purnima Yadav, Madhu Sidar, and Supriya added three more goals in the third quarter, stretching the lead to 13-0. India’s forwards combined pace and precision, leaving Pakistan unable to mount any resistance.

The final quarter turned into a showcase of India’s attacking depth. Krishna Sharma opened the scoring in the period, Pooja Malik completed her hat-trick, and Supriya netted her second of the match. Binima Dhan and Roshni Aind capped off the rout, with Roshni’s strike in the 60th minute sealing the 19-0 scoreline.

India finished with 18 penalty corners and one penalty stroke, while Pakistan failed to register a single attempt. The gulf in class was evident throughout, as India maintained pressure in every phase of play and converted opportunities with ruthless efficiency.

With this resounding triumph, India have booked their place in the semi-finals, where they will face the winner of the Korea vs Malaysia clash. Carrying immense momentum, the team looks poised to continue their charge toward the Junior Asia Cup title.
