Seven arrested in arms and narcotics smuggling case.

Delhi Police Special Cell has dismantled a Pakistan-backed terror-crime syndicate operating across the capital and its adjoining regions, arresting seven individuals accused of trafficking weapons and narcotics.

According to officials, the network was allegedly controlled by Pakistan-based gangster-turned-terrorists Shahzad Bhatti and Ajmal Gujjar, both believed to be working under the patronage of the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI). The operatives were tasked with smuggling arms and drugs into India through drone drops along the Punjab border before distributing them across Delhi-NCR.

Arrests and Recoveries

The arrested men — identified as Anas Tyagi, Mohit alias Yogi, Deepak Agrola, Arif alias Pradhan, Jatan, Sabir (all from Ghaziabad), and Karanvir Singh from Punjab — are aged between 26 and 38. Police records show they were already facing charges related to murder, attempted murder, robbery, and violations under the Arms Act and the NDPS Act.

During the crackdown, police seized five semi-automatic pistols, 41 live cartridges, seven mobile phones containing incriminating chats and voice notes, an SUV, and details of multiple bank accounts suspected to be used for laundering proceeds from the sale of narcotics and illegal arms.

Terror Plans Foiled

Investigators revealed that intelligence inputs received in May indicated Bhatti and Gujjar were plotting attacks in Delhi-NCR. The duo allegedly recruited young men via social media, luring them with promises of quick money and a glamorous lifestyle.

Police said the arrested operatives had conducted reconnaissance of several crowded areas and key locations in the capital, sending photographs and videos to their handlers in Pakistan. Timely intervention, officials noted, prevented potential terror strikes.

First Breakthrough

The operation began with the arrest of Mohit alias Yogi, from whom illegal weapons and evidence of direct contact with Pakistan-based handlers were recovered. His interrogation led to the unravelling of the wider module.

Ongoing Investigation

Authorities confirmed that the accused were responsible for collecting consignments of arms and narcotics dropped by drones in Punjab and transporting them to Delhi-NCR. Efforts are now underway to trace absconding suspects, arms suppliers, and financiers linked to the network.

Police emphasized that further disclosures are expected as the investigation progresses, underscoring the seriousness of the threat posed by cross-border terror modules operating under ISI’s shadow.
