New Design Tweaks, Pixel Glow, and AI Upgrades Expected.
Google has officially confirmed that its next flagship smartphones, the Pixel 11 series, will be unveiled on August 12, 2026, at a special Made by Google event in New York City. The announcement, shared through media invites, continues the company’s tradition of August launches, following last year’s Pixel 10 debut. The event will be streamed live on Google’s YouTube channel and website at 6 pm EST (3:30 am IST on August 13), giving fans worldwide a front-row seat.
Subtle Design Changes with Pixel Glow
Leaked renders suggest the Pixel 11 line-up will include the standard Pixel 11, Pixel 11 Pro, Pixel 11 Pro XL, and the Pixel 11 Pro Fold. While the overall design remains familiar, the series introduces a sleeker all-black horizontal camera module. The standout feature is expected to be Pixel Glow, an RGB LED notification system integrated into the devices. Similar to the Glyph interface seen on Nothing phones, Pixel Glow promises customizable lighting effects for alerts and notifications, adding a fresh visual identity to the Pixel brand.
Display and Performance Boost
Display sizes are expected to remain consistent: 6.3-inch OLED panels for the Pixel 11 and 11 Pro, a larger 6.8-inch OLED for the Pro XL, and a dual-screen setup for the Pro Fold with a 6.4-inch cover display and 8.0-inch inner screen. Under the hood, the phones will run on Google’s new Tensor G6 processor, a 7-core chip built on TSMC’s advanced 2nm process. This upgrade is tipped to deliver significant gains in speed and efficiency compared to the Tensor G5. Connectivity will also see an upgrade, with Google reportedly switching to a MediaTek M90 modem.
Cameras and AI Features
Though major hardware changes in the camera department are not expected, Google is likely to enhance the imaging experience with new software-driven features. Rumors point to an ultra-low-light video mode, Cinematic Blur at 4K 30fps, a video relight tool, and even a 100x zoom option. On-device AI will play a bigger role, with deeper integration of Gemini Intelligence and agentic AI capabilities, reinforcing Google’s push toward smarter, more intuitive smartphones.
Pricing Outlook
Industry reports suggest that rising component costs may push prices higher than last year’s models. For reference, the Pixel 10 series started at ₹79,999 in India, with the Pro models ranging between ₹1,09,999 and ₹1,24,999, while the Pro Fold topped the line at ₹1,72,999.
With the Pixel 11, Google appears ready to blend familiar design with bold new features, aiming to strengthen its position in the premium smartphone market.
