They wrote, “It’s angler fish at Crystal Cove State Park. There are more than 200 species of anglerfish worldwide, and this particular fish is most likely the Pacific Football Fish. Only females possess a long stalk on the head with bioluminescent tips used as a lure to entice prey in pitch-black water as deep as 3,000 feet!”
They further added, “Their teeth, like pointed shards of glass, are transparent, and their large mouth is capable of sucking up and swallowing prey the size of their own body. While females can reach lengths of 24 inches, males only grow to be about an inch long, and their sole purpose is to find a female and help her reproduce.”

Flood Situation In Assam
Due to less rainfall in the past two days, the flood situation in slightly improved on Sunday. According to the Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA),535246 people across 14 districts of Assam are affected.
Three more deaths were reported on Sunday which took the tally of deaths, since May 28, to 14. Some individuals are still missing, as per district authorities.
The ASDMA reports that on Saturday there were 601642, but on Sunday that number decreased. The main sluice gates were opened on Sunday to let go of the sluggish waters, and officials stated that the major rivers, including the Brahmaputra and Barak, are flowing below the danger level.
Minister’s Visit
During his visit to the flood-affected areas of Assam, Minister of Water Resources Pijush Hazarika stated that restoration efforts are ongoing in all 13 districts.
“We are providing adequate support to the victims and also the damaged areas are being repaired quickly,” he said.
Amit Shah, the home minister, recently assessed the flood situation and promised sufficient support. On Saturday, a well-equipped National Disaster Response Force team arrived in the Barak Valley area of Assam. According to officials, the team would remain here until the situation returns to normal.
