Indian cricketer VaibhavSuryavanshi, 14, was booed after the U19 Asia Cup, but the young star walked unfazed.

Pakistan defeated India in the Under-19 Asia Cup final held in Dubai. 14-year-old Indian cricketing star, VaibhavSuryavanshi, however, was booed after Pakistan’s win in the tournament. But Suryavanshi kept walking ahead unfazed.

Pakistan fans booing VaibhavSuryavanshi sparks discussions about sportsmanship.

A clip of Pakistani fans booing VaibhavSuryavanshi has gone viral on social media and also sparked discussions about sportsmanship and the intensity of the IND-PAK rivalry. The young cricketer found himself at the centre of an ugly post-match moment after India’s U19 Asia Cup loss to Pakistan in Dubai, with a clip that shows how sections of Pakistan supporters booed him as he walked past them outside the stadium. However, the teenager and batting prodigy of India didn’t respond and walked calmly, letting the noise fade behind him. The video shared on X was captioned, “Pakistan’s fans are acting shamelessly, and they have no sense of shame whatsoever.👀These people are booing 14-year-old VaibhavSuryavanshi just because Pakistan won a ‘cheap’ U19 Asia Cup. They’re acting like Pakistan won the World Cup.🤦🏻 This is why Pakistani people have no respect in other countries; they don’t hesitate to harm even children.🤷🏻”

A brief flare-up between Suryavanshi and Pakistan pacer Ali Raza on field.

Suryavanshi’s day had already begun a bit difficult on the field. Chasing 348 at the ICC Academy Ground, India lost opener and captain, AyushMhatre, early, and then saw Suryavanshi, who was looking dangerous at 26 off nine balls, edging pacer Ali Raza behind to the wicketkeeper. The dismissal was followed by a brief flare-up between Suryavanshi and Raza, another moment that went viral on the internet, underlining how quickly emotions can spill over in this fixture, even at the U19 level.

Pakistan’s performance in the final ensured there was little room for India to recover. Sameer Minhas scored 172 off 113 balls that powered Pakistan to 347. India was then bowled out for 156 in 26.2 overs, leading to a 191-run defeat.
