On Sunday morning, a family of four, including husband, wife, and two children, were found dead under mysterious circumstances in Jharkhand’s Dumka district. The man allegedly killed his family and then died by suicide, as per reports. The incident occurred in Bardehi village, within the Hansdiha police station limits. The deceased have been identified as VirendraManjhi (30), his wife AartiKumari (26), their daughter RuhiKumari (4), and son Viraj Kumar (2), Hansdiha police station officer in-charge Tarachand said, PTI news agency reported.

Director General of police (DGP) Tadashan Mishra said, “Primary investigation suggests that the husband killed his wife and two children and then died by suicide. Further probe is underway. The Superintendent of Police (SP) went to the spot, and an FSL team has been requisitioned for the probe.” As per the police, the woman and two children were found inside their home, while the man was found dead in the field outside their home. The bodies of the family have been sent to the Phulo-Jhano Medical College and Hospital in Dumka for post-mortem. While the reports are awaited, the police are probing the case from all possible angles, Tarachand told PTI.
Virendra’s father, Manoj Manjhi, told a leading portal that an argument had broken out between the couple, who had been married for six years, on Saturday night before they went to sleep.
