Kangana Ranaut slams Rahul Gandhi for his remarks of “Desh ka halwa.”

On Friday, August 1, Kangana Ranaut slammed Rahul Gandhi for his remarks of “Desh ka halwa” and said that the leader of Congress doesn’t make any sense in what he says. Speaking to reporters outside the Parliament, Kangana said, “What should I say about Rahul Gandhi? He makes no sense, at least I don’t get what he says. The most condemnable thing about him is the words he used for the country.” She added, “Rahul Gandhi’s grandmother (former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi) has also prepared various budgets, and I condemn his ‘halwa’ remark for the country. It’s not good for the country, and as Union Minister Anurag Thakur has said, the Congress’s mentality is to break the nation in pieces to benefit themselves… has been going on since the time of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru.”

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman reacts to Rahul Gandhi’s remarks.

Rahul Gandhi, displaying the photo of the Halwa ceremony, said that no backward-class person, Adivasi or Dalit, was in the photo. He said 20 officers worked on preparing the country’s budget, and of them, only one was from the minority community and one from the Other Backward Category (OBC). Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman responded to Gandhi’s remark on the decades-old “Halwa ceremony” and said that she was “pained” by his remark.
