For decades, the saree has never gone out of fashion for Indian women; in fact, it slays each time.

India is known for its beautiful collections of sarees from each state. This represents the uniqueness and beauty of that particular state. Whether it’s a normal woman, a political figure, a fashion designer, or a Bollywood personality, each woman loves to wear a saree, which best represents Indian women.

Recently, Kangana Ranaut, during her film promotion for Bhagya Vidhata. Where the actress wore a saree representing various craft traditions of several states, she presents herself in a beautiful Kanjeevaram saree designed by Gaurang Shah. The saree was a regal violet-and-ivory Kanjeevaram. This enhanced the actress’s beauty and drew considerable attention.

India is known for its craft, especially handicrafts. Today, handcrafted items are also sought for their unique work that no machine can do! Mochi embroidery is a traditional craft from the Kutch region of Gujarat, historically practised by the Mochi (cobbler) community. Well-known for its fine chain-stitch work, the embroidery is created using a hooked needle called an aari rather than a conventional sewing needle.

Kangana also wore a Kotpad saree from Odisha. While the white-and-red drape, which was no doubt looking effortlessly sophisticated, was only part of the story. What truly makes Kotpad sarees special is the labour-intensive craftsmanship and centuries-old techniques that go into the making. She also wore a Maharashtra Paithani saree

And the saree for which songs are also made, and a dream of every woman to wear, a Patan Patola silk saree in a rich red shade. Ranaut wore this saree for her film’s promotions in Jodhpur and looks like a queen herself!
