The actor compared the leader of the opposition, Rahul Gandhi, to a donkey by reacting to a post on X that has garnered over 1.9 million views thus far. An individual called Zaffar posted a picture of Rahul Gandhi, a member of the Indian National Congress, and a donkey created through AI and wrote, “Can someone remove the donkey from this picture?” Paresh Rawal re-posted this image on X and wrote, “You mean empty the frame?”

One social media user clarified what the post meant, and wrote, “There are two in it, you are asking me to empty it.” One user commented, “It’s a normal post until you realise it’s the PARESH RAWAL.” Some others called the jibe “brutal,” while others asked him to “hesitate.” The post also received criticism, with some asking what gave him the “right” to say that.
Paresh Rawal served as a Bharatiya Janata Party (MP) member of Parliament (MP) from the Ahmedabad East constituency in 2014. In 2019, he opted out of contesting again, though he remains a supporter of the party.
