Last week on Thursday, actor Saif Ali Khan was stabbed by an intruder in a burglary attempt at his residence in Bandra, Mumbai. The actor had to be admitted to Lilavati Hospital for treatment of his injuries and was recently discharged. The Mumbai police have now detained the burglar. Saif Ali Khan gave his statement to the police about what had ensued that night at his residence.

Saif Ali Khan has recorded his statement before the Bandra police in the case of the attack on him. He recalled the chilling account of what happened that night, saying that he woke up to the screams from his youngest son Jeh’s room and encountered the attacker.

In his statement, Saif said that he was with his wife Kareena in their bedroom on the 11th floor of the Satguru Sharan Building. Around 2.30 am, they heard their youngest son Jeh’s nanny scream. The screams woke them up, and they rushed to the room where they had seen the intruder. The nanny, Eliyama Philips, was screaming while Jeh was crying. The actor said that he tried to stop the intruder and overpower him, but he attacked him with a knife, stabbing Saif several times on his back, neck and hands. NDTV quoted police sources saying that Saif said he pushed the intruder inside the room as the nanny ran away with Jeh. The actor said that he then locked the intruder in the room.

When Saif tried to stop the accused, he stabbed the actor several times, said police sources. Saif suffered six injuries, including deep cuts on his neck and back. The accused, a Bangladeshi national, has been arrested and is in police custody.
