Actor Shah Rukh Khan made a stylish entry into Kolkata airport, arriving in the city ahead of the opening ceremony of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. He was surrounded by heavy security as he arrived in Kolkata and greeted his fans, blowing them flying kisses. The actor reached the city to cheer for his team, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), which will play against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in the first match of IPL 2025 on Saturday, March 22.

Numerous police officers flanked SRK after he arrived in Kolkata. Dressed in casual jeans, a white T-shirt, and a vest, he had his trademark ponytail chopped off and his hair coloured. KKR emerged as a winner for the third time in IPL, winning against SunRisers Hyderabad in IPL 2024. KKR will now kick off IPL 2025 by playing against RCB on Saturday.

Apart from Shah Rukh Khan, stars like Salman Khan, Vicky Kaushal and Shraddha Kapoor are expected to attend the IPL 2025 opening ceremony at Eden Gardens, Kolkata. American pop band OneRepublic has also been approached to deliver a performance, as are Arijit Singh, Shreya Ghoshal, Karan Aujla, Varun Dhawan and Disha Patani.
A source told Hindustan Times, “Their presence is likely to add a touch of glamour and excitement to the highly anticipated event. Shah Rukh is expected to attend as his team is playing the opening match, and Salman might appear to promote his upcoming film, Sikandar.”
