In the SunjayKapur estate battle, a senior advocate appearing for PriyaKapur asserted that all expenses raised by Karisma Kapoor’s children have been fulfilled.
The ongoing estate battle involving the late businessman SunjayKapur had Karisma Kapoor’s lawyer saying that the fees of one of their children, Samaira, had not been paid for two months. The lawyer representing actor Karisma Kapoor’s children told the Delhi High Court on Friday.
Mahesh Jethmalani told the Delhi HC that SamairaKapur’s university fees weren’t paid.
Senior advocate Mahesh Jethmalani, appearing for Karisma Kapoor’s children, told the Delhi High Court that under the matrimonial decree, Sunjay was to pay for the expenses of the children. He said the children’s estate is with PriyaKapur and is up to her. After hearing the submissions, Justice Jyoti Singh remarked, “I don’t want this hearing to be melodramatic,” reported Bar and Bench. After Jethmalani claimed that the 2-month fees of one of Karisma’s children, Samaira, studying in the US, had not been paid, senior advocate Rajiv Nayar, appearing for PriyaKapur, challenged the assertion and said that all expenses raised by the children have been fulfilled. He also said the purpose of raising this issue is that it “should come in the newspaper”.
What did the Justice say on the matter?
Justice Jyoti Singh reportedly asked senior advocate ShyelTrehan, who was also representing PriyaKapur, to ensure that issues like these don’t reach the court again. Justice Singh stated, “I don’t want to spend more than 30 seconds on this. This question should not come to my court again. I don’t want this hearing to be melodramatic.”
SunjayKapur died in June this year while playing polo in London due to a heart attack. In their plea, his and Karisma Kapoor’s children, Samaira and Kiaan, are seeking a rightful share in their late Father’s 30,000 crore estate.
