In the video, Rohit Sharma was seen bowing to ViratKohli, who was sitting in the front row of the team bus, before entering the bus. Minutes before that, Rohit was pleasantly surprised by Shubman Gill’s sudden approach from behind. India’s new ODI captain put his arm around Rohit’s shoulder to greet him in their first meeting since he became the new captain.
How did Rohit Sharma react to Shubman Gill?
A surprised Rohit Sharma, upon meeting new ODI captain Shubman Gill, asked, “Areyy, Gill! Kaisahaibhai? (How are you, brother?)” before they both embraced each other. The video then showed Rohit and Kohli’s reunion for the first time since the Champions Trophy final. They looked delighted to see each other. Next, it was Gill’s turn to meet his first captain inside the bus, and Shreyas was witnessing all this from a seat beside Kohli.
A couple of fans managed to get Rohit and Kohli’s autographs on the posters that they were carrying. India’s head coach GautamGambhir and other coaching staff are expected to fly out later in the evening.
