On Friday, Rohit Sharma’s wife, Ritika Sajdeh, gave birth to a baby boy. This has made his fans happy and instilled in them more hope that Rohit will be a part of the 1st Test in Perth in time, starting November 22. They feel that if Rohit were to be available for the opener against Australia, it would help settle India’s batting lineup as well as ensure leadership stability in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy series.

Even if captain Rohit Sharma sits out of the 1st Test in Perth, India has backup options for the opener’s position with specialist opener Abhimanyu Easwaran as part of the Test squad. If needed, Shubman Gill, the team’s no. 3 batter can also step in.
