The Indian players’ photoshoot pictures don’t seem to have impressed the internet at all. Fans criticize them, saying they are a huge downgrade from 2018.
Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) is highly anticipated by cricket fans in India and beyond. It is touted as one of the year’s biggest events outside the 2024 T20 World Cup. Though India faltered in their buildup to it rather spectacularly has made fans all the more nervous about their prospects in the 5-Test series in Australia despite them never losing this series for the last ten years. However, the player photoshoots before the series have earned major backlash from fans and social media users.
The Internet doesn’t seem happy with the photo shoot of the Indian players for the BGT.
Pictures of the Indian players have emerged online from their official photoshoot ahead of the much-awaited Border-Gavaskar Trophy series. However, reactions to the pictures have been lukewarm. In the pictures, the Indian cricketing stars can be seen smiling straight at the camera, as opposed to striking a pose on previous tours.
One headshot, in particular, has saddened fans.
The one headshot that has upset fans is the picture of Virat Kohli. For the 2018-2019 Border-Gavaskar Trophy series, King Kohli looked like a boss in his picture when he was a captain. But, he appeared rather disinterested and tired, with a compulsory smile on his face during the recent photoshoot. Amidst several reactions by netizens on social media, one user on X wrote, “Passport photo vibes 😭”
