The star cricketer of India and key player in RCB in the IPL revealed about his ongoing fitness issues despite impactful performance in RCB’s win over LSG.
ViratKohli is one player that apart from the incredible performances he has given for India in cricket, is also known for his love for fitness. However, recently, he admitted he is still not fully fit despite a key hand in Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s (RCB) 5-wicket win over Lucknow Super Giants (LSG). He said he is still dealing with soreness and illness.
ViratKohli talks about his fitness.
Kohli made 49 off 34 balls in RCB’s chase of 147 at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium on Tuesday, helping his team win against LSG. Speaking during the post-match interview on JioHotstar, ViratKohli said he was feeling “much better than the last game” but stressed that he was still not at full fitness. He said, “Yeah, much better than the last game. I’m still not 100%. I was sore in the last game. I was under the weather for the last four-five days. I started well today. I was happy with my intensity. Would have loved to carry on and finish the game.”
Kohli said his batting was not quite straightforward.
He even hinted that batting was not quite as straightforward as the final margin might suggest, pointing to a change in the surface as the chase progressed. Suggesting that he had read the pitch well and would have preferred to stay till the end, he said, “The wicket slowed down. You have to take conditions into consideration.” For RCB, the positive has been Kohli’s improved performance than his previous outing. However, in his own words, even after another useful contribution in a winning cause, he is still working his way back to full sharpness.
